Defense of Taxpayer’s Interests

The lawyers of the firm have succeeded in an out-of-court defense of the client in its dispute with Moscow tax authorities. Having carried out a field audit of the client, the tax inspectorate decided that payments for the services of the taxpayer’s foreign counterpart exercising control over the quality of products manufactured abroad on the order of the taxpayer were economically inexpedient. In the opinion of the tax inspectorate, quality control should be carried out by the foreign manufacturer, therefore the Russian customer had no economic grounds for retaining some other company for quality control. The tax inspectorate’s decision was appealed to the Federal Tax Service Moscow Department which concurred with the arguments of our lawyers that such expenses were economically justified and reversed the decision of the tax inspectorate. The team of lawyers was led by Valentin Moiseev.
