INTA 2017 – AGP Partner Alexey Gorodissky Held a Round Table on Disputes over Trademark Infringements on RuNet
In May 2017, the 139th INTA Annual Meeting took place in Barcelona, Spain, where Alexey Gorodissky was a moderator and key speaker at the round table discussion on disputes over trademark infringements on RuNet.
The round table attendees discussed the key issues arising in protection of trademark rights on RuNet, such as identifying administrators and actual users of websites at 2nd and 3rd level domain names, as well as problems in proving acts of cybersquatting or reverse domain name hijacking.
Russian and foreign participants noted the emerging case law in this category of disputes and possible application of the ICANN Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy rules.
During the INTA Meeting, which as usually offered plenty of possibilities for active networking, Alexey had a number of local meetings with foreign colleagues and clients of AGP and discussed possible cooperation with AGP prospective clients.
