Nowadays the development of a law firm’s business in Russia is greatly determined by the overall economic situation in the country as well as the investment and commercial activities of business operators. The law firm business has always been and remains dependent on the activeness of the merchant sector. There are three key features of today’s legal services market in Russia: (1) demand for legal services falls; (2) large and medium businesses are eager to use their own legal departments to handle legal issues, and (3) competition among law firms has increased and, as a result, lawyer fees are being reduced.
