In 2023 the Intellectual Property Russia Awards, a unique annual competition among IP law practitioners, was held for the fifth time. The Awards are intended to highlight the public importance of such professionals, encourage businesses to create IP management and protection departments and facilitate sharing knowledge and experience in this area of law.
AGP once again acted as partner of the competition and Veronika Popelenskaya, attorney of IP department and patent attorney at AGP, as member of the competition expert jury.
Year after year AGP has been keeping a keen interest in the competition. Getting knowledge of the competitors’ matters is a very useful experience, thanks to which AGP maintains awareness of most urgent issues and recent trends in IP sector.
On November 24 Veronika Popelenskaya, who represented AGP at the award ceremony, gave Merlion the award For Contribution to Anti-Counterfeiting.
Veronika thanked the competition organizers for the invitation to take part as jurors and noted that AGP’s team of practicing attorneys at law and patent and trademark attorneys was particularly pleased to offer the award For Contribution to Anti-Counterfeiting, the only category for contentious matters in which the award was given this year. Unlike the previous year, this time there was no sufficient feedback from the competitors in the classical general category IP Disputes. This situation best reflects the actual issues and challenges faced by IP owners in 2023.
